RuneScape is one of the few and very popular Java based MMORPG games. MMORPG otherwise stands for Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game. In each kingdom players must do battle with various types of monsters and other players in order to gain the required points and attain certain experience levels.
In RuneScape players are avatars and these avatars can be altered within certain limits to exhibit certain characteristics. One difference between RuneScape and other online role playing games is that these characters can choose the paths which they must follow. You may fight with a variety of opponents including other people and monsters, these opponents may also be combated in order to gain points or just for the sheer point of the exercise. You can also choose to do various things like liaising with other players in order to complete certain tasks or games.
To start the game you must first start in a certain tutorial area which is inhabited by other new players of the game. This area is officially known as Tutorial Island and the mastery of the concepts espoused here is necessary for you to move along to other more exciting points of the game. This point of the game will be responsible for the development of the character and the players will learn from certain tutors which are Non Player Characters embedded in the gaming environment. These tutors will set these new players on tasks which they must achieve in order to accomplish their aims. It takes a while to develop various characters and anyone interested in playing the RuneScape game must devote some amount of time in order to accomplish this feat.
