How To Deploy Your Army In WarHammer

The second part about deploying your army in WarHammer concerns the tactical deployment  of your forces. Various ways exist which you can use to deploy your forces  but there are various things which you should or shouldn’t do. Adherence to these rules is at your own preference and secretion but these rules are only meant to guide you to success when playing the game.

I.) Time of Deployment – The best time to muster and deploy your forces is after your opponent has deployed his. Which means you must deploy second countering any one of his army deployments with one of yours. In case of dreadnoughts and landraiders , only place the dreadnought until you identify the location of the drop for his landraider. If you are unable to identify  the location of his drop  and you need to make a first move make sure you make that move with an object that would be placed in a certain area regardless of the manoeuvres of your opponent.

II.) Make No Assumptions –  Anything you do in battle must be done in terms  of expecting to proceed into battle second.  Unleash your army and its components in areas where you can minimize the amount of hits you take from the opponent while maximizing your opportunities for counter attacking the forces of your opponent.

III) Scouts and Infiltrators – Do not place your scouts and infiltrators in a position of proximity that is when considered in relation to your opponents. Even when the opportunity lies glaringly in front of you the best thing to do is to avoid the temptation of making this foolish move.  Doing this without a sound manner of approach or retaliation measures will leave you open to annihilation.

III) Battle Formations – Camouflage is always important in this aspect of gaming. Make sure you are reinforced properly in areas which you wish to attack but place decoys in other areas where you are weak. This move will lead your opponent to muster their forces in the wrong direction while leaving his own army open to attack. There are various formations you can employ in order to complete this said task.

Some of theses formations which can be practised in case you want to try them, out are the strong flank and weak canter. The strong flank allows your opponent to send his forces in the wrong direction while you attack his depleted elements from the opposite direction. The other formation of note is the weak center formation,. With this formation the opponent is misguided to attack the weak center of your forces while you can then converge on him from the sides. This form of attack gives the maximum damage while minimizing the damage element to any of your  forces.
